MyGoogle: Personalized Google News

Google News was different when I browsed it yesterday morning. On a look, there was just a box of three words that made it different - Customize This Page. I clicked on it and it expanded where I can change the position of news sections, add or remove, and determine the number of news to be displayed. The feature I liked the most is, off course, the ability to add a custom section - if you subscribe to Google Alert in your email, then this can save your inbox space. A great feature added by Google - and yet another confirmation that Google is thinking big - indeed, very very big.

I unscribed all the news alerts and added all of the keyword in my special sections and I got a clean - pictureless - version of personalized news page where I can read all the news that interest me.

What I will love to see on it is some more features - like that ones of My Yahoo! - section for RSS Feed and my Gmail Inbox if I am logged in. Google would not take long time in adding that - I believe.

And more you can do is read news in a text version page plus easily switch back and forth to Standard News page and Customized News Page. Google for sure have its one way to better the existing system - something that has been contributing in its popularity.

Play around Google News and you will be impressed.
