I too condemn all those things that was done that day.

But i am too happy to see the support of Nepali people for cricket.

In a country where football was everything, now there seem to be a good fan following of Cricket too and i am sure official of ICC must be happy to see the stadiums jam packed in Nepal's match.

As a part of the crowd, I would like to explain some details redarding what actually happened that day. Almost everyone there had mobile sets with fm radio. Some were busy listening to the radio and flashing out the details of Singapore-Jersey match. A bad news ran into our ears - Singapore chased it's target of 193 (or around) in 26 overs and reached the finals with a drastic improvement in their NRR because of the quick chase. Another information was circulated among the crowd - if Nepal could stop USA till 38.5 overs, Nepal would qualify for the finals exceeding the NRR of USA. Then crowd was patiently waiting to see whether Nepal can hold them till the 39th over. The game was slowly moving out of control from Nepal's hand. Suddenly, 3 consecutive sixes were smashed off Basanta's over. This completely ruined crowd's hope of seeing their team in Div 4. There was frustration and anger in the crowd and some couldn't control it. The bottles in their hands and stones and brick pieces scattered here and there in the stadium started making way onto the ground disturbing the play. But, it wasn't an intentional effort to push Nepal into the finals, rather it was spontaneous outcome of frustation, anger and pain of defeat. No one in the crowd neither had the objective of disturbing the play nor knew that D/L method would be applied and Nepal will be benefitted. This is all that happened that day. So, in my view it's not the crowd's fault but it's CAN's. They should have ensured that such bricks and stones of material size are not in access of the spectators. Rolling the pitch and outfield only doen't complete the role of an organizor. I hope that ICC doesn't take any decisiom against Nepalese cricket. However, CAN must be fined and strictly warned for it's carelessness.

I know for sure the hooliganism was uncalled for, and for sure it couldn't have been a calculated effort to scrape Nepal through to the finals!! But, as a lover of the game and more importantly as a Nepalese, I really am shameful and condemn that act. It just proves that we are bad losers. Its one thing winning game after the other and cheering your team, but we Nepalese also should learn to be graceful when we face defeats.

Having said all this, I am hoping ICC will take a sensible decision and not go by just the emotions and punish Nepal only to the extend that the game's progress in the country doesn't take a setback!! To prevent any such thing from happening in the future, ICC and CAN have to take necessary steps and such crowd behavior should not be tolerated at all. I sincerely hope that our dreams of reaching Division 3 and further ahead is not dashed by some foolish act of a few irresponsible personnel in the crowd!
