My Achievement

Seriously nothing! These are the things which I did (or doing) and feel excited about, and sometime proudly tell them to the friends.

1. NepalCricket Anything/Everything About Nepal’s Cricket

I never thought what I started as a design idea to submit at the end of a month long web designing course would turn into such a huge thing. Thanks to a few journalists friends of mine who encouraged me after hearing my idea and View Nepal, a web hosting company, which offered me free space, www.nepalcricket.com (also available at www.cricket.com.np) is the pioneering sports site in the country. Dedicated for cricket, I am running this site almost single-handedly since 2001.

2. United We Blog!

Started as a hobby on Dinesh Wagle’s idea, www.blog.com.np turned into a big success and the pioneering blogging site of Nepal after the King assumed executive power on Feb 1, 2005. Wow! The site was mentioned in at least two dozens of newspapers worldwide and I gave a few interviews myself.

3. Exciting Media Experiences

I worked as a radio commentator for the Kantipur FM when they broadcasted the AFC President’s Cup football championship live on May 12 and May 14 (the semifinal and the final). It was really an exciting experience.

I worked as a television commentator for Kantipur Television when they live broadcasted the final of the inter-college cricket tournament.

The first tv talk show. I am with Ganesh Thapa, Nepal Football president, Shyam Thapa, coach, and Upendra Man Singh, captain. In middle, program anchor Rajendra Salav.

I have appeared three times in Nepal Television Channel 2′s talk show Pipalbot to talk about sports (football once and cricket twice). I wrote a blog for my first experience.

I write column (My Innings) for Khelkud Manch, a sports monthly. Its all about cricket.

And I used to write for Beyond The Test World (BTTW) – a quarterly online magzine edited by Tony Munro that appeared in CricInfo – the biggest one-sports site. My articles are still accessible here. I wrote One, Two, Three, Four , Five, Six and … Seven articles!

4. Academic

I was the university topper for the mass communication and journalism in the bachelor’s level and received two awards (with Rs. 9,000 cash) for that.

I just finished giving examinations of my master’s level on mass communication and journalism (for a lazy man like me, its also an achievement).

5. More …

I translated the WordPress into Nepali. WordPress is the popular blogging script that this site uses.
