!! This is an old project that is no longer available!!
WordPress, the most popular PHP + MySQL based blogging script, is now available in Nepali language. I translated the script using Nepali unicode. I hope to add themes in Nepali in future.

How to use Nepali? If you have already installed WordPress and running it, download the ne_NP.mo file from the list below. Create a directory called languages in the wp-includes folder in your server and put the file inside. Now, open the wp-config.php file and change as follow: define (‘WPLANG’, ”); If you are about to start a new site and want a fresh installation of WordPress, download the bundle below, it will install the WordPress in Nepali with the default theme in Nepali. The font looked weird? Either you haven’t install Nepali unicode properly or you are using Opera or Mozilla based browsers which do not recognize the unicode. You have to use Interner Explorer (sorry to say that). I can’t type in Nepali unicode? Find a software called Rupanter here. This software converts Nepali text in Preeti and such fonts into unicode. Or try typing online here. I have more problems? Mail to ujjwal-at-nepalivoices.com/ujjwal |

Hi Upadesh,
Thanks for your interest. The translation was for version 1.5 and it has not been updated since then, and it does not work for with the new version.
If I get time, I would try to get Nepali version of the latest version.
PS: Why is there none of the download files that you list above exist? Please, rectify the missing file links soon!
Nice work,
The whole morning I was searching WP directories to get aided for the same piece of work which you have already done. But I would like to continue it with all versions of WP irrespective of if there is any upgrade on the later’s part.
I expect a way to work out (with you) if not let you guide me.
Thanks.
Hi Eken, Thank you for your interest. However, the translation was for the version (I believe 1.6). After that WordPress changed the system of using language so I lost the interest. I probably still have the file somewhere though it won’t be much useful, if you want.
